North Adams’ mills went south to places like Greenville in the 1940s and then in the 1970s those mills left the south for Mexico and Asia, devastating the community. Greenville, population 60,000, is now booming after revitalizing the Reedy River, narrowing their Main Street from 4 to 2 lanes, making it a ‘walkable city, and inviting 21st Century businesses to take advantage of its quality of life.
