We are delighted to have the following people join the HRR Board of Directors:
TIMOTHY J. CAFFREY
A North Adams native, Williams College graduate, former market researcher, and retired US Army Colonel, Tim is now a family physician in San Antonio, TX, where he regularly sees a city totally revitalized because of an active riverfront economy. Having bought back his grandfather’s home in North Adams, and visiting family regularly, Tim is interested in contributing to the North Adams renaissance through his work on our project.
KRISTIN GRAVES
Since moving here 8 years ago, and buying a house along the Hoosic River, Kristin has become involved in many community activities, from walking tours to art projects. Now retired, she brings her college study of both Economics and Geography and her professional work as a data specialist, energy conservation effectiveness analyst, proposal writer, and financial management to the Board.
CARY KANDEL-NADLER
An avid outdoorswoman, bird watcher since age 10, and a health care practitioner, Cary has a strong interest in the relationship between the health and resilience of a community and its surrounding natural environment. Formerly employed as physical therapist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer in New York City, she is now working at Berkshire Medical Center with a keen interest in creating engaging activities that will inspire others to support the restoration of the river.
KATHY LAPLANTE
Having chosen North Adams for her retirement, Kathy is now choosing to share her many skills with the Board. Her relevant work experience includes working as a Social Science Analyst at the USDA Fire Sciences Lab studying the relationships between human health, economics, stewardship, and restoration on such topics/projects as Urban Waters Federal Partnership, the economic contributions of environmental restoration events, and Civic Environmental Stewardship.
